Austria Club Radio
Tuesday 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Meet the team:
Christa Rogers, Heinrich & Renate Beuke
        Bruno Rabensteiner (retired)

The Austrian radio program started here at 6EBA-FM with Bruno Rabensteiner who had just moved to Perth from Melbournes 3ZZZ.
Bruno ran the program until July 2005 when he made the decision to return to Melbourne to be with his family.
We sincerely thank Bruno for the many years he devoted to the improvement of 6EBA during which time he served on the Management Committee as Vice President.

Christa Rogers took over as the Producer of the program in August 2005.
Christa took to the radio like a natural, and has enjoyed delivering her program to fellow Austrian Club members and the broader community for the last four and a half years.
Join Christa for her last program Tuesday 1st September 2009

Hi there,
My name is Christa Rogers.  I was born in Trofaiach, Upper Styria (province of Austria). I am one of nine children who moved to the USA after the war was over and I am the only one in Australia. I migrated in 1965 with my husband and two children. Melbourne was my home for 11 years until I moved to Perth. I love Perth I love Australia but I still have lots of room in my heart for my homecountry AUSTRIA. I am also a singer and participated in many functions to promote the culture and tradition of the Austrian people.
2005 saw me first as a guest on the Austrian program at 6EBA-FM 95.3 and it was about after four months I found myself in charge of creating and broadcasting the show. I love doing the program, but sometimes think how nice it would be to have an occasional offsider to help out. The Austrian community in Perth is not very large and most people are in the 60+ age group, so they just want to listen and enjoy the program, rather than being part of it.  That is OK, I will keep going as long as I feel that you all enjoy my program.  Since 6EBA began streaming the radio over the Internet, I have found a whole lot of new friends back home in Austria and all over the world who listen to the program.  How great is this.
Christa Rogers
Producer/Presenter

As well as producing the Austrian program, Christa an avid gardener make a major contribution to the station's Seniors Program (now in recess) doing a Gardening segment sharing her love and experience with many of our listeners. I myself always looked forward to hearing Christa's advice on what to do next in the garden.
Now Christa has decided to retire from the radio and move on with her life opening up new avenues to explore. Everyone here at 6EBA wish her all the best, and she leaves us with the fondest of memories.
