Soheir Khalil-Kaldas is the producer/presenter of the Egyptian Hour. Born in Alexandria, Egypt Soheir migrated to Perth Western Australia in March 1971.

Soheir commenced at 6EBA 95.3 World Radio as a volunteer broadcaster during1996 helping the Middle East Program as a console operator/presenter and she will tell you herself she is very proud to still be very much involved.

Soheir is now a Producer in her own right, having commenced broadcasting an hour program each week for the Egyptian Voice Association. Inc.

Soheir is joined by Joe Kaldas, Elie Bah Bah and Nadia every Friday on 6EBA-FM 95.3 and has been on air since 2004.

During the program you will hear :

•    Egyptian / Arab local community events in Perth.
•    The latest mix of Arabic music /songs to suit ages
•    Egyptian music by request for listeners 50 and over.
•    Educational issues for elder listeners.
•    Other topics such as Health, Women, Beauty,
      Cooking and the horoscopes.
•    Interviews and talkback.
•    Local requests for all occasions.





Soheir Khalil-Kaldas, Producer and Presenter of the Voice of Egypt radio program first interviewed popular Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfik on air on the 20/06/08 who had just arrived in Melbourne for his first concert. His second concert was held in Sydney on the 21/06/08, followed by his Perth WA Concert held in in the Embassy Ballroom in the supburb of Carlisle. Soheir Khalil Kaldas and Joe Kaldas from the Middle East Program both from World Radio 6EBA 95.3FM were privileged to do a second interview with Ehab on the 26/06/08 at his hotel followed by dinner at  Oceanus Restaurant with 50 guests of Perth Royal Entertainment the organisers of the Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfik's concert in Perth.

On Friday 27/06/08 Ehab Tawfik were in concert live from Perth at Embassy Ballroom Carlisle singing all night for the Middle east communities until 1.00am, The Embassy Ballroom was full from people attended the concert it was the most beautiful night Perth has ever seen for 12 years to see that such gathering came to see their favourite singer, Ehab Tawfik sang from his heart  to the all communities who came to listen to his voice and took photos with him before his return to Sydney to have his fourth concert, It was my pleasure to have that interview not once but twice with such incredible Egyptian voice and fantastic young man who brought such joy to every ones heart.

Overthe years we have interviewed so many local and overseas personalitieseither live in the studio or over the phone. We have even had ourfavourite Belly Dancer Tammy in the studio with us, a favourite of ourlisteners. Tammy tells us that it is the belly dancing that has kepther so fit to be able to fulfil her other duties as a working wife andmother.

The McNair Ingenuity Community Radio Listenership Survey results were released earlier this month at Parliament House and showed an increase from 47% of Australians (aged 15+) listening to community radio every month in 2006, to 57% in 2008

Rotary Group Study Exchange Student visits 6EBA !

During late October, we were lucky enough to have Niki Cleary visit the 6EBA studios. Niki is taking part in the Rotary Group Study Exchange which sees people from different cultures and countries meet up with others in their profession whilst developing professional and leadership skills and travelling the world.
