Dr. Samina Yasmeen

She teaches courses on world politics, strategy and diplomacy, and Islam and world politics. Her research interests include the analysis of the domestic and foreign policies of the states of South Asia, confidence building in international relations, women and citizenship, and the place of Islam in the international system. She has published widely in all these areas.
As of March 2006, Professor Samina Yasmeen is the Director, Centre for Muslim States and Societies at the University of Western Australia, Perth. She teaches courses on Islam and international politics. She has also worked as Executive Director of the Indian Ocean Centre for Peace Studies at UWA and Curtin Universities (1995), a Research Specialist in Defence at the Legislative Research Service of the Australian Parliament (1985) and Senior Research fellow in a UNESCO-funded project at the Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan (1977-79). Dr Yasmeen is a specialist in political and strategic developments in South Asia, and the role of Islam in world politics. She has published articles on the position of Pakistani and Middle Eastern women, the role of Muslims in Australia, and Indo-Pakistan relations.
Her current research focuses on the role of Islamic groups in Pakistan's foreign policy. She is a regular commentator on issues relating to Islam, Pakistan and Muslim immigrants in Pakistan on Australian and international media.

6EBA is Perth's only full time ethnic radio station and has been broadcasting to Perth's non-English speaking population for over thirty years. Our station has over 500 volunteers each broadcasting to their communities of interest, the majority of whom have been doing so for over twenty years.

Whadjuk Radio is an Award Winning indigenous radio program on air on 6EBA-FM 95.3 World Radio since early 1997. Past presenters like Kylie Farmer, Ethel Wallam and Karla Hart have moved on with their careers and are now highly successful in each of their fields. Whadjuk Radio and 6EBA is proud to have played a small part in their success.

The Multicultural Radio & Television Association of WA Inc. held its Annual General Meeting this year on the 18th October 2009. The venue was the Floreat Athena Soccer Club where over 100 members, their guests and friends attended the meeting, followed by a luncheon prepared by the Club's chef Mr. Peter Kalogeracos allowing members to socialize, relax and catch up.
