Swiss Club of WA Inc.

Tuesday 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Meet the team:

James Kunz, Simona Carniello, Claire Vooys

Around 1986 Swiss Radio changed to live broadcasts with the help of a desk operator provided by Radio 6NR, and then from December 1988, it included a news broadcast with all the latest information direct from Switzerland, and had its own technician for the live broadcasts.

In 1990 all ethnic programming was taken off the air by 6NR, which gave it the chance to change over to the newly established Radio 6EBAFM World Radio, broadcasting on 95.3 MHz on the FM band. At the beginning of December 1990, most of the ethnic groups that were members of the Multicultural Radio and Television Association (MRTA) started to broadcast their programs from the studios at View Street in North Perth.

Around 1993 the MRTA purchased its own building in the centre of North Perth at 386 Fitzgerald Street. In the new premises we quickly establish three studios, and after volunteers received specialised training the the quality of all programs improved.  With the new studios we now had talk back facilities which greatly enhanced our programs and public participation in them.  Very soon we were connected to the internet, so were able to access information to further enhance our programs.

Since these early days Swiss Radio has continued on air regularly on Tuesday evenings.

Current members of the production team are:

James Kunz as coordinator / producer / presenter (swiss german)
Simona Carniello presenter (swiss german)
Claire Vooys presenter (french)

During the first three Tuesdays every month our program is in Swiss and German

On the fourth Tuesday our program is in French however the News is read in German in the last quarter of the hour.
