Perth’s own multicultural radio station, 6EBA-FM has teamed up with the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre to form a brand new program, Building Bridges. The program aims to target an audience of people new to Australia, helping them to settle in their new country.

Launch: Wednesday October 24, 2007 at 10.30am at the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre, Unit 1, 14 Chesterfield Road, Mirrabooka

Building Bridges producer/presenter Dani Simpson is excited about bringing new voices to radio “…it’s about the experience of being new to Australia, information about services as well as culture, events, people’s stories and fantastic music from around the world.”

As a part of the Building Bridges program 6EBA-FM are in the process of training people who have ties with the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre in radio broadcast so that they can contribute to the program.

This link between 6EBA-FM and the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre is vital and will hold an important role for new and emerging communities in Perth.

Program time: From October 24, 2007 each Wednesday 11am-12noon on 6EBA 95.3FM
